John "Bajan JC" Armstrong, an American born Bajan, while on one of his many visits to Barbados, learned the biggest problem for Barbadians visiting friends and relatives in the States was carrying enough seasoning and hot sauce. Bajans living in one of the major Caribbean neighborhoods could find their flavorings in a local store. The problem was that those not living in these areas had no local access to the products.

Realizing the need for an importer to then ship products directly to the customer, JC started Bajan JC Products to do just that. "Barbados-Your Island At Your Door".
